My friend Scott brought this over to share for a small tasting and it was very interesting. The label and recipe has changed since this bottling in 2009 but this one could be worth aging, cheers!

From the brewery...

" A Limited Release Seasonal offering, Imperial Stout is a big, boldly-flavored beer fit for royalty! True to style, Imperial Stout is full-bodied and warming, with a creamy texture. Boasting rich, roasty aromas and flavors of roasted coffee, black currants, plums, and bittersweet cocoa, this beer certainly packs a punch. A generous hop addition adds a level of complexity and balance, along with a pleasant bitterness.

This extraordinary stout will continue to mature nicely with age. Flavors tend to mellow and become more rounded after a year or two. Buy as much as you can and lay some down in the cellar for a few years to taste multiple vintages vertically."

  • Just had to jump on the vintage band wagon, huh. LOL!!! Great review guys.

  • @drolretfa Hey he brought it!... It's weird how much the beer has changed since the 09 vintage, I looked it up for info and everything about it is different.

  • Word. Can you tell I don't like looking at the camera? :P

  • @w00tah1 You'll warm up to camera the more you do it, I still don't think I'm completely used to doing it.

  • @CheertoBeers LOL!!! Yeah that's the one bad thing about vintage beers, brewers will change the recipe over the years. Then again you have the "I'm drinking it and you're not" aspect:-) However it does suck, to an extent, to drink a vintage beer and no one is around to share it with.
