  • Lieblingslied meiner Mutter.

    Weihnachtsgruesse aus USA

  • @Nguli34689 When I hear this Christmas Carol, I begin to remember the taste of Frauline Gretta's Christmas pastries. They had so many of them in Frankfurt (Frauline Gretta was my mother's nanny in Berlin, Germany, during the war. M family was Russian, so they were considered "non-citizens" but we were under the protection of Albert Goering, Herman's half-brother who my grandmother met when she was a silent film actress. My maternal grandmother went under the stage name of Alexandra Sorina).Thanx

  • das lied muss ich lernen

  • @carolynmeredith The Christmas album pictured in the above video looks very much like the German Christmas album my parents played during the Holidays some 50 years ago. I enjoyed hearing your story of listening to German Christmas music and the puppets which your father brought back.

The last time I was in Germany was during the winter of 1975. Me and Karl rode our bicycles in the snow. Frauline Gretta had these ginger bread cookies which were coated with chocolate. Thanks for your memories.

  • @Nguli34689 I also grew up listening to German Christmas music. My father bought a few records for us when he was on assignment in Wiesbaden and other Air Force bases. (He also brought back puppets!). This song in particular brings back so many beautiful memories of Christmases past.

  • My mother was born in Berlin in 1935. She left Germany to the United States via Red Cross with my other family members. They worked, paid taxes, and later on became citizens. When I was born in early 50's, I remember the beautiful music my mother used to play during Christmas holidays. This is one of those songs which I remember from my childhood and listening to it takes me back to the time when I was very little, believing that Santa Claus would come and leave me a present because I was loved.

  • That's from an old german Christmas album, where did you get it? T

    hanks for posting!
