As he has understudied and performed as Raoul in Phantom, he knows this song and the entrance. The problem is the short musical phrase is repeated and he should come in the second time. I agree that with all the screaming at the beginning he might not have been able to distinguish which phrase it was. It didn't take away from a lovely passionate rendition.
