the work ethic of these dogs is matched by that of the carr bloodline american bulldogs of the southern US and also by airedales and various other terriers and many of the large LSGs.....however the alano IS one of two breeds (the other being the ole'southern white/old english white bulldog of the US) to be directly descended from the ancient alaunt....
