We used to have a 2003 Altima 2.5S. When the SE-R came out, my dad and I test drove one and, as much as we loved our 2.5S, that SE-R was amazing to drive. We then bought a 2007 2.5SL and my dad has had it ever since. I decided to buy a GM (A Pontiac G6) but I think I'll be going back to a Nissan after it's paid off!

I used to sell Nissans so I drove all the different model a lot. One think I noticed was that my 03 3.5 se 5spd was faster than the SER. I felt like you could shift faster with the SER but each gear seemed to have less power. In my 03 I only really need to shift once to hit 60 and I'm not even redlining or anything. I don't know why they made the SER slower. I think it's more looks than true performance at least in the acceleration category.

@DRkid908 I have an 03 3.5 SE and the steering is boosted way to high and the handling is worse than my 1979 Chevette was. No excuse for the poor straight line handling. I've never had a worse quality car interior wise. It is fun the drive since it's so dam fast. It's a sleeper. Things improved dramatically in 05 though quality wise and handling wise, but the car slowed down a couple seconds from 0-60. Still a cool car. Can take most any car 0-60, but dies after that. can't have everything.

@thebaker7 The SER is great, just don't drive it in the snow. It is almost impossible. I think it's those low profile tires or something, but you can't stop or steer even at low speeds(15mph). Best to saty home or drive a different car in bad weather.

also its more fun to drive!

People just don't understand how much fun an Altima is to drive. Most people think the only thing out there that's worth any money at all is Camry's and BMW 3's. Bang for your buck, the Altima beats both. It only took one drive. I've now put 30k miles on my '08 Altima. I can't wait to see the next gen.
