  • Hey, it's been three years now since your surgery. How are u doing now? Are you fit and can do sports? Do still have any kind of pain?

I am considering surgery, but I'm most likely going to join the police force so that's why I'm asking.

  • @playtilal I am really great!! It was the best thing I have ever done! I am fit and healthy and still a competitive swimmer (training 6 days a week) and I play lacrosse. No pain at all!!

  • Hi, I'm 26 and I have Scheuermann, 89 d curve. I have been suffering severe pain for a couple of years now. I'm considering having an operation.. I also climg in the mountains. (disease is slowly restricting it more and more). So I have a question - Is the back totally stiff after the operation? That stiff that You cannot do any sports and You are not flexible at all? Will it be possible for me to climb again (on a slightly higher level than recreational ) after the operation and recovery time

  • from the points where the rods are screwed into the vertabrae top and bottom, you cannot bend your back. In my case T2 to L3. I am ram rod straight between these two points but I can still bend over and touch my toes and from a side view it looks like my back could double as an ironing board!!

    The operation is Spinal Fusion

  • So any sport activity is rather not recommended after the op huh? I will not be able to climb anymore...

  • I'm a competitive swimmer and have got back in the pool and am now swimming faster times than before my operation. I also play lacrosse and hockey and run!!

  • @hornedfrog2000 Faggot

  • Also, people need to realize this isn't just for Cosmetics. This condition can compress your lungs, and heart making them work harder.

  • Did you really gain, and keep 6" in height?

  • I had an 83 degree Kyphosis and i got it fused in November 2009 at the Royal Children's Hospital when i was 14 years of age! I went through a similar experience to you and my surgery all went well post-op, had to wear a brace for three months but it wasn't that bad, only sticky in the summer :/

I have the exact same scars and everything :) Feel free to message me!

  • Thanks for Your informational video, look like they did a good job on your back but they haven't fixed your cervical zone.

Cervical zone needs support also from correct jaw/teeth position, look for "OCCLUSIONE GRAVITA" (OcclusioneGravità Webiste) over Google for more info (can't post Website links here).
