Why am I hearing the ever so slight presence of an Anglophone/African accent in his Italian delivery? The influence must be extremely powerful, considering that he was born and grew up in Italy. Or maybe it's all in my head.

Actually Mario has a strong northern Italian accent. That is probably what makes you think he has an African english speaking accent. But this is absolutely not the case. He grew up in Brescia. He speaks with a very strong Lombard accent.

The interviewer asked Mario whether Cassano is going to Inter Milan next season and Mario answered that he doesn't know but that he would love to play with him. In the end, Mario said that in the meanwhile he is going into his room and to try to play withCassano at his side on Playstation 3.

@DJHarrison93 I think that may be the biggest appeal to Balo for me. He's so awesome, and I love African footballers, they have a god game. Balotelli is born to Ghanian parents but raised from birth and grew up 100% italian. He has citizenship as of his 18th birthday of course, too.
