I don't disagree with the idea of a video academy: the problem is that Khan's videos are boring, inaccurate and display an appalling approach to the idea of pedagogy. Mathematics Khan Vida! will change that.....

Ohhm, and of course students in classrooms where they've tried it love using khan academy in class. Wouldn't you love it if your English teacher stopped asking you to read all those boring classic novels and just let you watch the movie versions in class??

The most important learning goals in mathematics are learning how to solve problems, come up with strategies, communicate strategies and methods, perservere when faced with difficult challenges, and to produce meaningful analysis of information. There is nothing on Khan academy that a student couldn't find in one of the textbooks on the shelf in the classroom or in his or her own textbook. It's like the movie version of a novel that a student doesn't want to read for English class. Nothing more.

I think the web is obviously the way of the future, but we're not there just yet. A lot of these online schools seem kinda scammy at the moment.

I am a student. I and all of my friends who use it at Komvux (in Sweden) have had a rather easy time so far because of Khan Academy. One of my friends in college is just sad that it didn't exist when he was young and that all the math he reads is now on a higher level than that currently taught on Khan Academy. One of my classmates actually came up to me the next day after I recommended the site to him and thanked me because it had made it so easy for him to understand.
