Jimi Hendrix mini set - the "Love" songs - 05/03/2008

As performed in front of a packed house, this Jimi mini set represents very rare covers by me. Perspective: In all my 35+ years of playing, this is my third performance of Foxy Lady, fifth of Fire, and fourth of Can You See Me. As of the May 3rd show, the band had not rehearsed or played out in 6 weeks (Foxy Lady and Fire were played March 22), and we had not played Can You See Me since mid February.

While I had figured these tunes out ages ago, I wasn't interest in covering Foxy Lady or Fire because they were too "radio" and too simple by comparison to covering Band of Gypsys or many other Hendrix pieces. Having the right drummer and bassist who are interested in playing the tunes makes a big difference...these were their suggestions to do.

Note: Fire has two spots of "string biting"...then last licks of the first lead break and from 6:44-6:54...I felt it was the right way to play it, this time!
