René is Magic!!!!!!!!!!

Do you think that people who like these performances will read your comment and say "Ah! Now I see it! This performance is bad!" ? Or are you under the impression that your opinion is of such weight that it would simply be immoral to withhold it from the world?

Mozart isn't "ancient music". And that's the problem. This performance is acceptable... if compared to Jacobs's abysmal rendition of Mozart's "Jupiter" symphony with the Freiburg Baroque(!) orchestra. A successful attempt to suck every drop of life out of that masterpiece.

It is a great performance... Rene Jacobs is phenomenon on ancient music...

Pessima direzioneee !!! Il violino è stato totalmente surclassato dalla tromba nonono!!!

I can hardly understand the negative comments here. To me, this is lithe, exciting performance. I must get the DVD.

@jmccarty3 you forgot to put quotes around "historically informed" :P
Anyhow, THis PERformance Is LAugh OUt LOUd FUnny (and just in plain bad taste)
I think this masterpiece demonstrates more than any of his
other works the brilliance and genius of Mozart. I can listen
to the glory and majesty of this overture over and over again
and never get tired of it.

@RyaZila24, that's because you know nothing about historically informed performance practice.
