http://www.DogBehaviorOnline.com - This is a staffordshire bull terrier who is dog aggressive. We are training him around a male German Shepherd to teach him to not be aggressive. The Staffie is wearing a muzzle for safety.

  • To bad once the muzzle is removed the dog goes right back to being aggressive.Certain traits u never can train away .

  • Thankfully you're wrong. This dog has been doing great ever since his training.

  • If you are looking to use the e-collar....which i am not a big fan of by the way...but ok,, Use it with someone who is an expert in ecollar training!

  • I didn't use the e-collar once during this training.

  • Bravo! Excellent video - proves once again that these collars in skilled hands can SAVE DOGS' LIVES.

    Thank you for posting this.

BTW- the dog is uncomfortable because of his muzzle, but did you notice that his body language is not? His tail is not tucked, in fact it wags often, it wags when he is asked to "down" and downs next to the shepherd.

He looks like he is making amazing progress! Kudos!

  • i'm gonna get me an ecollar too,my gsd puppy is agressive towards other dogs

  • so are you saying to get my dog to face his fears to overcome them ? he has dog aggression issues, no growling, no teeth baring nothing just once he gets close enough he bites the dog ! should i muzzle him and let him near other dogs so he knows that they mean no harm ?

  • I know of only 1 poorly designed study that used high levels of stim. I understand the PP view that in a perfect world we can desensitize these dogs. But that is not ALWAYS practical and other methods DO work also.

  • That's great that your training your dogs to be better in behavior! However, this doesn't help the neighbor's pomeranian from attacking my dog. Any tips other than suggest dog training?

  • I think the muzzel is fantastic. Forces the staff to be near a dog who is able to smell him and vice versa. I'm assuming you didn't take the muzzel off until after a massage and complete calmness as well. Good job. From a Shelter worker who wishes rehabilitation for dogs speads like wildfire...

Good job. Not every one method works for every dog, somes respond to correction, some to reward...but whatever works...works.

    Keep up the good work.

    Melissa
