  • PBY has a pitch control(also feathering) but no reverse.

    By the way , early 2012 she will be flying again at the Lelystad/ Ijssemeer Holland

  • @nickolastd21 I dont think the planes in that day and age had pitch rotation. I know late in the war, WWII, that some experimental aircraft had that but i dont think the PBY did.

  • you dont cut the power straight away as you need the power to reverse pitch on the props to slow the palne

  • Who cares, these guys devote so much time and money to keep the "Karel Doorman" airworthy! Be thankful we can still watch her fly!

  • the pilot takes for ever to cut the engine, US Navy USAAF US ARMY pilots are more skilled
