  • Cycling is great, if you like it, but Americans should realise that we are getting majorly dicked over by the oil co.'s and the govt, and that is why cost of living is so high and fuel is so high, housing is so high, and wages are so low!

  • motoredbikes com extend your range by motorising your bicycle

Lots of people do what's called unsupported touring, which involves camping and hauling your own cooking gear/camping gear with you only on a bike.

Burley makes a line of trailer that haul children. The same trailer can easily haul a weeks groceries.

Who can afford to take a vacation in this economy?

40kilos is a ways, but maybe you should be rethinking where you live in regards to your work?

  • I can't live my life on a bike. It's not like I only use my car to travel to work, but I use it to pick up my kids from school, go shopping, vacation. Try loading a bbq grill on your bike to go camping and see how that goes for you. Besides that, to cycle to work 40 kms in the rain or cold ain't an option for me.
