in the realm of hand manipulation control our brain is the undisputed champion...robots meanwhile fare worse than toddlers...yet as we continue to put the pieces of the puzzle together in biologically inspired ways we can look forward to usable prosthetics in the near future
I wonder if we have artificial "skin" with the same sensor characteristics and density as humans and if we have artificial actuators similar to human muscles then are we going to be able to make the hand to look/act like real? If Yes then it seems the Dexterity issue is more of engineering problem for animatronics industry? Perhaps there is more to that.
The robot hand reminds me of the hand of a monkey when it manipulates objects. Somewhat clumsy.
