The complete DVD is available for download at http://shop.grandballroom.com/. This Bronze 2 Standard DVD collection is the series that follows our Bronze 1 Standard videos. It consists of four discs showing the International Style of Waltz, Tango, Quickstep, Slow Foxtrot, plus a separate DVD showing complete choreographed routines for each dance for dancing around the room. The first three dances are a continuation of the Bronze 1 Standard series while the Slow Foxtrot is taught right from the basic steps. Each DVD features Andy & Wendy Wong, owners and instructors of the largest dance studio in North America, teaching and demonstrating the steps exactly the way they do it in their hugely popular classes. Learn from these professionals who have taught over 15,000 students in their world-renowned dance studio, The Grand Ballroom. • Hello Mr. Wong,

I am a dance student and have learnt a lot from your youtube videos. As far as I can tell, you're a great teacher. I have a question about the lady's form in this video. at 1:52 she steps toe then heel. I was always told to step forward on the first count of a waltz with the heel. Is this not the case for this move, or did she mean to step onto the heel first?

    Thanks!

  • @Paintanker

Hello, the rule about heel fwd on 1st count of waltz is a general fundamental rule that is very important. But it does not apply to all steps once you get past the basics. There are steps in bronze, silver, and above (such as a 'turning lock') where you rise right away and therefore the first step fwd will be toe. In the case of the basic weave, the lady has the option of using a toe-heel or heel flat footwork. You will understand this more once you get into the silver level.

  • Hellho Mr. Wong.

    Thank's for your excelent videos.

In this one I have a great doubt:

Should't we start this step Backing DW, insted of Facing DC?

    Thank you

  • The Basic Weave is preceded by steps 1-3 of a reverse turn. If you begin the reverse turn facing LOD and turn 3/8 you will end backing DW and therefore the first step of the basic weave will be backing DW. In our case, we dance the reverse turn facing DW and turn only 1/4. Therefore the 1st step of the weave wil be facing DC or backing DW against LOD. We find this gives better flow to the figures.
