Minqi Li is speaking the truth about China. I love China but I want it to return to socialism.

Excellent counter point and feedback. You make a very good point. Cuba and China, what a question mark? Cuba should reach out to china for help? Will China fund Cuba with cheap goods and cars? Funny, Fidels Stalinist communism is dead today. but they will catch up fast, they are lean and mean down there. USA will one day open up the island because with so man alien mexicans running around here who cares anymore? lol

Cuba is poor because of the high military expenditure it had to sustain whilst backing, supporting and leading colonialist revolutions in Africa against Portugal/Rhodesia/South Africa which were backed by the CIA. I am a political realist and the Chinese Communist party will have to resort to populism to retain the support of its populace. This doesn't include more liberties but instead more welfare, cheaper or even universal healthcare and in reducing polution (clean water e.g).

communism and socialism is not sustainable for china, has too many people to support, look at Cuba today, a loser state, second poorest to haiti, socialism does not work so they had no choice but to open up and follow our example, they think they can control it but once out of the bag you cannot return back to Mao teachings, they will become the new Rome one day, the new global empire and yuan will be the world currency one day.

No. New left intellectual movements are taboo in major Chinese media and many interest groups find the New Left very dangerous to them and add pressure to the government to stop the spreading of the ideas.

I would say socialism is a compromise between capitalism and communism, the only truly reliable and continuous development pattern. I would also say many European countries are now more like socialism though titled capitalism. Socialism, it is what China is heading I think. And under Hu and Wen, health care issue, increasing incomes of peasants, etc are all on-going. I personally can't require more at this time since it is so complex task to manage a huge nation as China.
