"So boy just put that stop sign down..." Why doesn't anyone write like this anymore? Absolutely love this.

@IsaAmonRa She also did "Love Is Strange" way way way back in the day, which I always heard on the oldies station when I was a kid. So she went from 50's duets to 70's soul to the birth of hip hop. Real interesting career!

one of the most mellow songs ever written! From a different time;;when music was part of our souls!!

She's not the godmother of Hip-Hop, but she did help it get off the ground with her Sugarhill label. Hip-Hop is indebted to her, but give credit where credit is due. She is one of the icons of Hip-Hop that no one talks about. Plus I had no idea that she was one & the same person. The Pillow Talk songstress & Sugarhill label creator.
Sylvia's song Pillow Talk was the one song that all the guys in the neighborhood who grab a girl and get on the skating rink floor and stroll in harmony. That song would make us want to be in love. You can imagine two afros rolling down the floor, with those afro combs stuck in the back of our hair. OMG, how we use to love one another. RIP Sylvia and thanks for the memories.

Does anyone recall her first visit to "Soul Train" when she performed this song with the neon yellow top AND matching hat? I would love to see that clip again!
