"Get Your Shit Together" - September 15th 2007

On September 15th 2007 the Iraq Veterans Against the War led a 100,000 strong march of anti-war protestors from the White House to the Capitol building. They were supported by the Veterans for Peace. Along the way the marchers were harrassed by a pro-war gathering.

instead of lashing out, support the tropps, its not our fault we're sent to the iraq and afghanistan. I've been there and im going back to afghan. But that doesnt mean im in favour of the war. im british and seeing these muppets against the war makes me so angry. Dont make comments until you've been there and seen things; i've done things im not proud of and will probably do things again. All im saying is No-one can scream an opinion unless they have been there.

I appreciate your opinion, but I can't help but to disagree. Does one need to see an unjust war to know it's wrong? Does one need to witness violence before forming an opinion about it? I think that I have a perfectly legitimate distaste for the war. Though I've not been to Iraq, I know it's wrong to invade a sovereign nation without being provoked. ..continued..

Your argument simply sets out to delegitimize the majority of those who oppose the war. Simply put, if I'm against the war, why would I join the army to confirm my opinion?

That said, it sounds like you will face some struggles there, and I wish you the best. Good luck. I contemplate on soldiers in your position often, and do not envy it.
