Black Isle folded when interplay did :( and split into two devs... the now defunct Troika games (Arcanum, Vampire: bloodlines, and temple of elemental evil) , and Obsidian (Neverwinter nights 2, kotor 2, alpha protocol, fallout new vegas, dungeon siege 3).
uh... D&D on pc started back in 1988 with Pool of raidiance. look it up there were 3+ trilogies of gold box series games. look them up and play them. Great games!

bioshock is a dumbed down "console" title... its not in the system shock series at all. System Shock 1 and 2, Thief 1 and 2 were all done on the Dark Engine which was by looking glass studios and irrational (for system shcok series). looking glass folded after thief 2 (awesome game btw..) and some splintered off with warren spectre to form ion storm austin which made Deus Ex 1 and 2, and thief deadly shadows.

@rawkfist208 Bioshock isnt a sequel to system shock its a side story thing and Fallout: Tactics isnt a sequel to fallout 2 its a side story thing.

It is a spiritual successor, basically a sequel. It used the "Shock" title to pull people in who were fans of the System Shock series. That made it a sequel.
If they didn't want it to be a sequel they should have called it something that didn't have "Shock" in the title.
