@salemcripple not intriely certian my father and i were disscussing it and figured that 15" gague trains are any where between 1/4th scale and 1/3 scale

Not certain on the scale, but it's 15" gauge.

hmmm. when you say 15" gauge, are you referring to the piston diameter, or the track width? Because i looked it up, the track width for a full scale train is 56 inches. Sorry, i'm not familiar with scale trains. I know that scale steam powered traction engines are measured in piston size. thank you for the reply!

The term "gauge" when referring to trains, is the distance between the rails. The term "scale" refers to the proportion of one item to the original. A 1:24 scale is common for plastic model cars. Model Train "HO" scale is 1:87.1. That means it's 1/87th the size of a real train.
