The relationship between grandparents and grandchildren is often a very special one. But for a growing number of grandparents, grandparenting really means parenting a second family. In Florida alone, there are over a quarter of a million children living in grandparent-headed households. Thats 7.1% of all the children in the state. In addition, there are another 86,000 plus children living in households headed by other relatives. In this video, Kenny Holt of Council on Aging of West Florida and Cindy Hasty of Homewood Suites by Hilton join host Jeff Nall of Council on Aging of West Florida to introduce a new support group for grandparents raising grandchildren and other relatives raising children.
