gOS 3 Gadgets Final - Ubuntu Linux for Netbooks

gOS 3 default installation. gOS Gadgets 3 is a special Ubuntu distribution made for netbooks. It is based on Ubuntu 8.04.1. You can download the Installation disk from http://www.thinkgos.com/gos.php. It is a Live CD so you can try it on you desktop or laptop without making any changes to your computer. Tried the Live CD on my Wife's Dell Inspiron 1525 and everything worked great except I couldn't get the wireless working. I'm sure I could have gotten it working with some tweaking though. Comes with everything you need including Firefox, GIMP, OpenOffice and Wine 1.0.

Just installed this like you recommended. So far so good. Wireless installed with madwifi just fine. haven't tried to see if it works with suspend yet but I'm sure it will if not i will tweak till it does. Thanks for the recommendation I will definatly let everyone know about it!

Hi, sorry I'm from Canada so I'm not sure where you can get Internet in your area. It's a good OS though.

I have been running gOS for a couple of years and love it. However, the development team have vanished and left us stuck in basically Ubuntu 8.04 with a very cool GUI. One night a screen appeared asking me if I wanted to upgrade to Ubuntu 10.04. I went for it, because I couldnt upgrade software that was designed for the updated kernel which is missing from gOS gadgets. So, as much as I love gOS, I have the gOS 3.0 desktop, but it runs Ubuntu 10.04. I recommend Ubuntu 10.04.
