Phil Dejean: Educator, Illustrator and "Checkerboard Kid" creator and host, Phil Dejean was born in Brooklyn, NY and was raised in the Bronx. He enjoys drawing cartoons, & collecting comic books; His show centers around Ska music but he also enjoys "On the non-Ska tip, I enjoy the works of Laurie Anderson, KRS 1istentening to Talking Heads, The Smiths, Neil Young, They Might Be Giants, Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players, The Pixies, Depeche Mode, Frank Zappa and Prince. His favorite film "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" (has been involved with the New York cast overt half his life and has appeared numerous books on that particular subject.
