We recently had the opportunity to take a trip to Okratron 5000 (http://Okratron5000) and spend some time with Chris Sabat and Seán Schemmel. The gentlemen were gracious enough to take a moment out of their busy recording day to talk Dragon Ball Z Kai for the blog-o-cam. If you're somehow not familiar with the two, Mr. Sabat is the ADR director for Dragon Ball Z Kai as well as voices Vegeta, Piccolo, Yamcha and various other characters. Mr. Schemmel is most well-known for voicing the most powerful being on Earth touted as IGN's #1 Anime Character of All Time. To his Saiyan enemies he is Kakarot, but you can just call him Goku. Seán also, depending on how you translate it, is the voice of God himself - King Kai.

The interview is broken into a series of clips that we will periodically release. We hope you enjoy hearing some insight on Dragon Ball Z Kai from a couple of those closest to it. Share you thoughts and comments on Chris and Seán's thoughts and comments.

  • today on mythbusters: dbz myths with real kamehamehas

  • At first I was disappointed at Kai, but I kept watching it and seeing how easier it was to understand the story, had no boring fighting scenes going on forever, and the voices have really matured. I am very happy with it now. I own all the DBZ and, thanks to my dear friend, own the DBZ Kai. It is a major difference.

  • @HazardHighlander Despite it's violence, it is generally targeted towards kids. In Japan, the amount of violence is more lenient than USA's standards, which is why the Uncut version would be appropriate for adults. But hey, if you don't see it that way, I can understand where you're coming from.

  • @Anixe *sigh* it's not a kids show. the original Dragon ball maybe but not so much DBZ

  • @chiissu hahaha. awesome comment there.

  • does anyone else kinda hear goku's voice within sean's?

  • @FaythRose no u dont

  • sean you were right! it was and still is and to all haters, Suck MY BALLS....DRAGON BALLS!!!

  • @wiggie666 Dragon ball z oure shit with gay fillers and crappy voice acting.lets be honest

  • dragonball z kai is pure shit and a rip off completely. lets be honest.

  • Kai would be awesome if they would add the Bruce faulconer soundtrack from original DBZ America. Those soundtrack really put the emotion behind the show.

  • He said Poke'mon.. :D *fangirl scream*
