@shelldawv Dont sweat it. Don Nehlen was the best coach WVU ever had. He was part of a breed of coaches that are pretty much gone. The 20 year head coach is a thing of the past. Holgersen could win a National Championship at WVU or he may never win another game. Either way hell be gone in 5 years. Tops. Just the nature of college football these days.

WVU plays Syracuse this week. Never forget this game. What a rip off!

I remember this game well. Total BS job against WVU. 3 of our players ejected after SU started the fight. The QB that started it didn't even get tossed. After this happened then a horrible pass interference call that kept the last drive alive. Its okay though. 8 in a row against Syracuse and about to be 9 in five days.
You don't know what you are talking about. That was no cheap shot! I was there at that game. The whole thing happened right in front of me.
Tommy Orr made a clean hit on Marvin Graves. The only guys tossed out of the game were WVU players. The guy who started it (Graves) stayed in the game.
It was a pathetic call and darned poor officiating!!!

(cont'd)He had several big win when they were BIG underdogs...'81 peach bowl WVU 26 FLA 6,...'84 Bluebonnet Bowl WVU 31 TCU 14...'83 beat #9 Okla in Norman, beat #4Pitt at home..'84 beat Penn St. 1st timw since 1955!! etc. He brought the Flying WV logo to WVU...I just think he needs to be remembered for more than his bowl losses, thats all ..I'll say no more but GO Mountaineers!!
