How to size and join the handle for SUP paddle [ http://sarusurf.com ]

to measure :
on the dry land, stand on your board (take off the fin first :)
hold the paddle next to you so it touches the ground
measure along the shaft about 18cm (7 inches) over your head
raise your board off the ground with some cushions...
holding the paddle, stand on your board...
now see how it feels paddling the air...
if it feels good, mark it with a pen or some tape.

note: the handle also adds about 7cm (3 inches)
to the length of the paddle
be sure to take this into account
BEFORE you make the final cut :)

    yes, we recommend graphite reinforced polymer (carbon fibre / fiber) because it's now much cheaper than it was and it's about 25% lighter than fiberglass
