Recorded for the 7th Annual Music Seen Festival on May 4, 2007 at The Canal Club. This song is by Ethiopian composer Girma Beyene. We've recorded it several times and it may appear on our next venture. Rattlemouth is Danny Finney-saxes, Robbie Kinter-drums, Marc S. Langelier-bass, George Lowe-guitar.

  • Nice to see Girma Beyene's compositions getting such notoriety and being performed by really good non-Ethiopian musicians. Agree with djEssatu's -Moges Habte's version is awesome, as is Mulatu Astatke's. Danny's Ethiopian vest is pretty cool (of course, nothing close to his amazing sound on the tenor). George Lowe's guitar licks are fantastic. Thanks for posting this, Robbie. (And BTW, Ethiopian Lives!)

  • George and I saw Getatchew Mekuria & The Ex perform this song in DC about a month ago. (as well as 12 other wonderful Ethiopian songs) Yet another great version. Thanks for listening.

  • Robbo do u ever fear the pony tail flying off of your head?

  • I played so hard one night in March it flew of and impaled three dancers. I keep it short now!

  • Robbie: This is a very nice video. Was the whole show video'd like this and are you able/willing to share/sell copies? - Mark C.

  • One of my favorite songs, and I love Rattlemouth. One of the bands I need to see.

  • You're lucky -- I totally missed that event. Look forward to listening more of your work. Cheers.

  • Great sound! Wish I could be at the Art 6 gig!

    Keep it up guys!

  • Keep it up guys, great job, you nailed it down & gave it a groovy sound, check out Moges Habte's version, too. That one rocks, too. Great job. I like to hear more.
