Screech Owls were an Irish band, featuring a revolving flock of the finest - those birds that were a part of the pack included Debbie Schow, lead flockmeister, Dik Evans, himself formely of the Virgin Prunes, Martyn Baker, renouned engineer, bassist, and all round great musician and nice guy, Ian on trumpet, a Tinderstick to be on drums, Irish trad players, jazz players, punks, pranksters and others..
From the Desert Songs and Dirty Pictures ep and the GIRL Records seven inch single now just rareities gathering dust on the shelves of the few record stores left on the planet

Independent/Alternative band, American theme but with scenes and band members from Ireland, and the California,(USA)high-desert.
Song and spoken-word, writers Debbie Skhow/Schow and Richard G.Evans, video by Peak Prod., Dublin, Eire

  • Anita101402 sent me over here and I am glad she did, thanks for sharing.

  • still watching this regularly . wonderful !

  • To the desert, life, and passage, or stillness of time ... right to the heart.

  • Completely different from Virgin Prunes!

  • The sand, the rocks, the joshua trees, I'd seen them - been moved by them - and they were fresh in my mind when I first heard Desert.

That riff stayed in my head for THIRTEEN years before I found a copy of Desert Songs And Dirty Pictures. Given its scarcity, I was amazed to find a video existed.

Truth be told, I listened to it less than an hour ago and came looking for a way to tell you what it means to me. So here I am. You could never know how badly this song affects me.

    Thank you.
