Come on a walking tour of the Holiday Shoppe at 6 On The Square (6OTS) in Oxford, NY. See the special items hand crafted by talented artists from the area. There are toys like the Egg Rollers made by John Knapp of Oxford. John made trucks, graders, crayon holders, cutting boards and lots more from wood he harvests from his Oxford property! There are "Storm's DOLLees" quilted dolls with rockin' rag hair-dos created by Storm Hammond and Virginia Lee of Norwich, NY. Goat's milk soaps made by Susie Miele's "The Goat Lady Soap Co." of New Berlin, NY. The soap fragrance names sound good enough to eat (-but don't-) like apple jack, sage, peppermint, and vanilla! Youll even see some great souvenir Oxford items. Alan L. Golden, from Norwich, can make such tiny cuts in wood, he can spell out names in bookmarks! He also makes clocks - great for an Oxford Blackhawk alum. The "Oxford, NY" ceramic jar is made in Oxford by Bill Troxell of Strongstone Pottery. See fresh roasted coffee, knit scarves, tams, teeny-tiny baby socks and great big Christmas stockings to name a few! Theres also cards, gemstone jewelry, and wooden ornaments to delight all ages! Theres something for every taste and budget; even free gift wrapping! If you're not sure what to buy -6OTS offers gift certificates- so you can treat your friends and family to upcoming show tickets! (More items are coming in like hand-spun and dyed yarn by Nancy Morey of Shadeyside Farm in Oxford, and pottery by Ede Walker of Smyrna, NY.) FMI visit www.6onthesquare.org
This arts and entertainment venue is promoting the Buy Local campaign and encourages you to proudly give a gift that is unique to Chenango County.
The 6OTS Holiday Shoppe will be open weekends thru December 20th, Saturdays from 10 - 4 and Sundays 11 - 3. The Shoppe will also be open during performances. If you make a purchase, you can feel good knowing that you are helping to support the artistic endeavors of 6OTS, but your purchases also support local artists and craftspeople.
