It was not until the invention of more cost-efficient materials and tools for mass production in the early 20th century that lighters became popular items and companies began to realize their true value for advertising a brand. Today businesses can imprint their company name and logo on a variety of promotional lighters, ranging from sophisticated Zippo hinged lighters to simple yet equally effective plastic Bic promotional lighters that come in an assortment of colors.

Zippo lighters are so nice. That's really neat that they used to hand paint advertisements on them.
