Environmental devastation of the land, water, and air - the largest industrial energy project in the world is extracting crude oil from bitumen found beneath the pristine boreal forest of Alberta, Canada. Effecting a land mass equivalent in size to Florida or England, Both industry and government are putting money before the health and security of its people and the environment.

Tar sands take 3 barrels of water to process every barrel of oil extracted. Ninety percent of this water becomes so toxic that it must be stored in tailing ponds. Unfortunately these ponds regularly leach pollution into the third largest watershed in the world.

Water depletion, exploitation, privatization and contamination has become one of the most important issues facing humanity this century. Check out my other video on water issues: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMmpg3... and see my other videos to learn about the dark side of fossil fuels.

To learn more about tar sands, be sure to check out the featured film sources listed below. Find out more about what you can do and how to support the film makers.

Tar sands development can be minimized by blocking development of pipelines, such as Keystone XL, that carry the sludge of this incredibly polluting energy project. Tell Canada to clean up this mess and join with Bill McKibben and Josh Fox and let your voice be heard.

I told you about a Socialist economist in my email. I also explained why Economics are not as relevent when we talk about equality and workers' rights, and hence why it is not as relevent in Socialism.

I never said a degree in English literature would give you expertise in economic policy. It is not the number of years you spend getting an education or the amount of degrees you have that matters. What matters is what you learned and what kind of an education you get.

I don't doubt level of education has a bearing on peoples political leanings. Thomas Sowell actually wrote a book on it, and there is a video on youtube called "Thomas Sowell on the Vulgar Pride of Intellectuals".

Basically, it hits the nail on the head when it comes to the highly educated. "I have a Masters degree in English literature, therefore I am also an expert in economic policy".

Have you ever wondered why there are few if any socialist economists?

And yet you and I are around the same age. Maybe the difference isn't age. Maybe it's education. I have a B.A. How about you?

Your granny and grampy - and soon your mommy and daddy - will love you for helping to get rid of their pensions. The good news? You'll be able to see all of them more often because they'll be living with you.

I have watched some videos featuring the two names you gave me and have sent you an email.

Oh, and don't listen to ludlum. He's a Con crony for the Alberta gov ;)

false, the polls tell a completely different story, the young people today, 18-30 are completely different from the young people 20 years ago. This kind of shit is going to end, the prejudices, environmental issues and human rights are becoming more and more important. It's only a matter of time before all these old bastards are dead and buried and when that day comes it will be a great day for the world as we know it.

Money is the ultimate drug and until we get these countries to be self sustainable this kind of shit will never end. It's time for these old fuckers killing this country to just die off. They have done so much damage for such a long time that it's about time they all just die off.

It does seem to be younger people that gravitate towards socialism, and older people gravitate towards capitalism, isn't it?

I know that I thought socialism, even communism were the best thing when I was young. Then I got a job, started paying taxes and realized how shitty socialism can be.

    Cheers.

Good thing for Canada, there are more and more older people and they have more sense than to elect a NDP acommie government.
