This is wrong. The F scale allows a rough estimation of wind speed through damage done. Wind speed was estimated from an F rating of the OLD F scale by using the following formula:
v[km/h] = 22,68*(F+2)^2/3
I haven't found a formula for estimating wind speeds through the enhanced F scale, but an estimation of wind speeds should still be possible. Of course, this is not an exact measurement, just a rough estimation.
And yes, it was an F5. It completely destroyed parts of the town.

Nothing but that you were sucked up and killed. It was an F5, the strongest category with wind speeds up to over 300 mph
