No that's an old story. It was film artefact. The so called zipper was merely film artefact from a poor copy of the film. It didn't exist on any other copy.

It's no fake, all scientists examining it conclude it's a real Sasquatch. The state of f/x then was poor to say the least, even decades later there was only one way to do Bigfoot suits based on the idea Bigfoots are tall. So what does Hollywood do? The only thing they can, stick a tall dude in a longhaired uniformed humanshaped suit. Bigfoot proportions they just can't create, the Bigfoot anatomy's very different from human anatomy obviously, mainly the longer torso/arms. No way to reach a mask.

@TBAKC Patterson obviously knew they faked it. After his death, the people that pulled off the hoax with him admitted it, how they did it, and so on. But it's the hardcore believers who are not willing to admit they got duped that are pushing this agenda that those claiming responsibility for the hoax are lying. Some people hate being wrong so badly, they have to continue the fantasy instead of giving up the ghost.

Gorillas weren't even discovered until 1902, and are still extremely hard to find in the wild. There are about 750 million acres of forest land in the United States where nobody lives. Sightings of this creature go back over 400 years.

@stiqula Gee, how typical. Many people came forward NOT to make a dime off of this. Please, tell me, which person in the FX industry made money by pointing out it was a bad costume? Now, lets get this right, Bigfoor is about the size of 2 gorillas, and he appears to be everywhere. We have captured every primate known to man, but not the ones that weigh 400-800 pounds and are up to 9' tall? I think it's YOU who needs to get a grip on reality. Whether some can exist or does exist are worlds apart.

@19nisey69 and you don't think those people (who were not the original photographers) didn't just say it was a hoax to sell some books and make money too?? There is a huge possibility that a primate species like bigfoot could exist. We're not talking about a dragon or a few-million-year-old plesiosaur here, we're talking about something with over 99% of a genetic match to humans and chimps. So I wouldn't be so quick to judge reality when you don't seem to have the strongest grip on it yourself.

I can't believe anyone would even think the BBC wasn't paid to FAIL the recreation test. They couldn't get the hair the right color, they didn't bulk the costume as the original hoaxsters did, and I like the way people think a costume moving around over a human body is "muscle".
