She might not be the best mezzo ever, but her voice is pure, perfectly managed and controlled up and down the octaves. Yet everything sung by her sounds "easy", effortless, fluent.
Her timbre is not the darkest available nor is her voice the most beautiful ever heard but her technique and gusto are outstanding: she reminds me of a mountain brook: not as impressive as Niagara falls but soothing, perfect, spotlessly beautiful.
Here, as Carmen, gone is the vamp and there is the authentic woman

She's mesmerizing and spell-binding. I love her acting, dancing, singing and her everything. Such an exciting performance. Brava.

She's doing wonderful Carmen. My heart was pumping up so fast near the end of aria when she was dancing and doing the trill at the same time. Her dark voice sounds so beautiful at the middle and the low. Pleasant resonance and exquisite trill. I love this whole production. I wish I could be there.

I think Julia was very hot, in an earthy, gypsy like way. She was natural and animalistic, not a diva doing sexy gestures.

I have original DVD recording. My friend buyed me it somewhere here in Slovakia or in Vienna... I´m not sure... but the true is, I didn´t see in internet stores so far :(
