  • I thought Blue Mink did this?

  • You are indeed right! Thank you for correcting me. :)

  • I was a loyal Capital listener when I lived in London in 1977. Roger Scott was my particular favourite and I was very sad to learn that he had passed away. He was a terrific DJ. Lots of great DJs on Capital back then. Great memories - thanks for posting.

  • Not necessarily this tune but 'Afternoon Delight' always takes me back to summer afternoons in our suburban back yard listening to Roger Scott playing the sounds of the summer. Happy innocent days!

  • @DaveNightingale What a star!

  • @cak813 Yeah Roger Scott had to be the most genuine person dejaying at that time, and a man of integrity, listen to"Roger Scott 3" on YT>

  • Now that''s what I can a jingle...How good listening to radio was back then. I LOVED Capital in those days. What fantastic presenters and they all had real character. You felt that in some way the station belonged to you. There was a sense of community in London back then,

  • @MrDoncos All Independent local radio is like that now. Piccadilly in Manchester and City in Liverpool, now broadcast more or less the same things in the same order. There's no local personality anymore. :-(

  • @MrDoncos Agreed 100 per cent!

  • Ps I forgot to add the great Peter Young, who still can be heard on Jazz fm

  • Capital radio 1973-87 the best radio station in the world. Great DJ's like Kenny Everett,Roger Scott,Dave Cash,Greg Edwards and Nicky Horne. The station was fun and unique.

The modern day Capital is just shit DJ's with no personality and crap music

The original Capital will never be forgotten

  • Anyone has the 'Best Disco in Town' Capital jingle from 1978?? The jingle used the track by the Ritchie Family, 'Best Disco in Town'. Capital used to host a 'Disco' at the Lyceum Ballroom once a month and played this to promote it.

  • What a great jingle, still sounds as fresh as a daisy.

  • love this capital at its very best!!
