You can find the "Basic Engine Building" DVD here.
This is a sample clip. Here's what they have to say about their DVD...

Basic Engine Building' is like no other instructional video ever created. This DVD will teach any enthusiast or mechanic of any skill level how to rebuild almost any type of engine by going through every step of the rebuild process. Every engine building tool, theory, method and proceedure related to basic engine building and engine function is covered in detail.

This video can be used to learn how to work on almost any type of internal combustion engine including V8, V6, Straight 8, in-line 6 and even 4 cylinder engines.

This DVD follows the same 8 section formula as the previously available '8-Point Rebuild' to explain a complete teardown and rebuild of an engine. This video can be used to learn how to work on almost any type of internal combustion engine including V-8s, V-6s, Straight 8, in-line 6 and even 4 cylinders.

An extra hour of video footage was added that puts the total run time to over 3 1/2 hours (not including the hours you could spend learning in the Reference Menus). There are dozens more computer animations and graphical explainations of complex engine building techniques. A fully redesigned graphic interface and completely re-written and narrated by three different personalities. This simply is the best automotive instructional video ever produced!

You'll be shown every tool and how to use them. You'll be taken through every process necessary to complete an engine rebuild. Nothing is left unexplained. With the help of this DVD, you can complete an entire rebuild or use it for a lifetime of reference to automotive building and repair.

  • reminds me I hate these "Install videos" when the blocks out the car. Anyone can work on an engine when it's out the car. Show us in car, that's a completely different ball game. That's what 80% of the people watching came to see.

  • @ladygodia - Just in case it's not 100% obvious, this is/was a test video for a sample clip of the "Basic Engine Building" DVD. It is NOT a car repair DVD. It's for people who are REBUILDING their motors. When rebuilding an engine, the block will always be out of the car.

  • @Triasp711 my mistake I only read the title. Please don't hurt me sir.

  • weird I never saw anyone use anything but the red stuff for the entire cam.

  • Some people are comprehensive when it comes to crakshafts and believe that they are highly complexed. They are not all that complicated, of course a beautiful piece of engineering in any engine combination, internal and external (steam) combustion engines. I have been involved with them all my life and stripped and reassembled many engines. One of my favourite parts of the engines, it a shane that no see-through cylinder block can be made to see it in action.

  • @LeoBullterrier This short sample is only one clip from a full length DVD that is over 3 1/2 hours long.

It covers every aspect of an engine rebuild, from removal and disassembly all the way through the machining, pre-assembly checks and to the final sealing, assembly and start-up of the rebuilt engine.

  • @vizestroowash to open and close the valves

  • @Trueno8588 Hey thanks! Im shittalker911 on another profile =)

  • @shittalker911 Well explained :)

  • @youdragon higher rpm=more oil pressure. the oil pump is driven by the engine.
