The problem with this is once you have a console that's been modded you can just burn games and don't even have to buy the imports, but I have to add I don't look down on this too badly because if the game company didn't release the game to be played in your region then there not loosing those sales anyways.

I hate region locking, I think its something that should be done away with and love that the PlayStation 3 is region free on it's games. I end up modding consoles to be able to play imports if its easy enough or buy a premodded console.
I absolutely hate the idea of region locking. It's just stupid. Do they even realize how small of a minority importers are? Even with the advent of the internet giving people the means to more easily import stuff, it's still an insignifigant number compared to domestic sales. I just don't see their logic. Wasn't Nintendo's region locking system originally supposed to combat bootlegs and stuff anyway? I dunno.
Great video! I'll try to do a video response to this in a few days.

It was but the funny part is that the SNES' "lockout" was strictly two tabs in the back of the cartridge slot but the problem that I don't think Nintendo realized is that it just takes a pair of pliers to snap off the tabs and then you can play your SFC games.
Believe it or not a lot of people are doing import games. The store that I got my first game from has been around for over a decade or so you know there's a market for those games.
Here's hoping we can get a good discussion on the topic
