This is the ACK Attack Streamliner. The crash occured during the 2004 BUB Speed Trials on the Bonneville Salt Flats. This was the first time the motorcycle streamliner had been driven at high speed. It crashed in the middle of the timing blocks at a little over 300 mph!!

  • Was Jimmy Odom driving when this happend ?

  • Yes, it was Jimmy Odom.

  • how fast was he goin

  • Just over 300 mph!

  • Do you know that went wrong?, and will you be at the Texas Mile anytime soon?

  • Slight Wind Gust! While this is a motorcycle, you can't lean to correct a variation in direction. You must drive throught it...something that is very difficult to do!!!

  • @bawww13 what car he had? did he die ?

  • omg that was so scary, I almost cried! But then the dude said "hallelujah" and I felt better cuz it made me laugh, hahahahhaa.

  • Wow!

Seems like a very fine line between running well and a crash.

Gaining new respect for these guys, everytime I watch a vid.

  • BRAVE MEN !!

  • Oh man bad crash i had a friend that this happened to but he wasnt so lucky!

  • "He got up and walked away", wow. I'd let them safety inspect my vehicle all day to make sure things were as right as possible, thank you SCTA and who everelse is responsible.

  • I met these guys in 1997 in Hollister during the ralley, they had not yet tried for the world speed record, which they now have. I might go to the salt flats next month to watch them run. I have sent them a request to see if I can run my Corvette on the 5 mile track, that would be fun and how many people get to do this?

  • My uncle was driving the Ack Attack here...... He was traveling approx 330 mph when he was "hit" by a 5 mph cross wind..... He was not harmed and was actually was back at Bonneville about 3-4 weeks after this crash in the same bike going for the record again.
