This does finally put the 2012 A2B in contention with Bionx since they now have regen But one can find Bionx kits for around 1300 or often less
It can be stuck on any walmart 100 dollar full sus for a great cheap car alternative .
After testing the A2B I found the gear ratio too small for an ebike 1st thing I did with my ebike was put on a big chainring . This is the next suggestion for A2B

nycewheels, again you made a great demo video. The bike can't be a great manual pedaler, but that is not the goal of that bike. And it can't be cheap, but it is no sin to make a quality product exciting to the market segment that can afford it. It's obviously a great bike for city runs in particular, and there is none that looks better in action, style does count.

@nycewheels we should talk about this in public. I am pro-choice. I will not wear a helmet in city riding, have not for over fifty years now (I tried it, and gave it up). Millions of Dutch city cyclists also wear no helmet. Helmets make cycling a "uniformed activity." We no longer have helmet laws in Florida. The accident and injury rate dropped. Cars are more cautious of un-helmeted bikers, imo...so, it should be a choice, not a "you should wear a helmet", from the helmut nazis.

@Evgenyraskin Any "new" A2B at this price should be carefully scrutinized. It is likely old stock and may be out of warranty or have a depleted battery. -Peter

@DBJCobb Yeah, The Bionx system alone can run $2000 . So for an extra $600 you get a complete bike from Ultra Motor. I think most would agree the A2B is a great deal when you think of it that way.

@eth92 Its really an awesome bike. The suspensions is amazing as well. The 2011 A2B Metro does not charge but the 2012 model now has regenerative braking. This feature is enabled when you pull the brake and uses momentum to recharge the battery a little. Regenerative braking usually increases range by 10-15%. -Bert
ok so how much does fun cost??

You should wear a helmet.

@metermill That's a good point! I nearly always wear helmets and we definitely endorse the idea that everyone on a bike should wear one. -Peter
