i can not believe that this man did not recieve the medal of honor.What a travisty. this is what the medal is for. he's the best of the best when it comes to heroism. Perkins was my history teacher, and he is alive and well... a helicopter lifted them out, he told my class other details that were pretty crazy. Gotta be the coolest guy that i ever got to have as a teacher

@Brianvdb1 Nope, they were both pulled out. The only thing I disliked was the Sgt Eaton did not receive the MOH (Medal of Honor) for his valor on that fateful April night in 'Nam. This action took place in the Delta whereas I was up north stationed near Saigon flying out of Bear Cat. JW ('Nam Vet: '68-'69)

@AtlasSniperman I agree. One sniper can change an entire strategy of a battle. They truly are an Army of One. I did not know that only 2 snipers have ever received the MOH. It ticks me off too!

@dynamitemike65 I understand the aggirvation that he did not earn the medal of honor for this. But a similar experience earnt 2 snipers, I can only remember one(Master Sergeant Gary Gordon) a medal of honor in Mogadishu. I wish Ed had gotten the Medal of honor, not just for this but other acts of heroism on his count. I am unsure why not more than the 2 snipers have ever earnt awards of valour. but it pisses me off
