Halloween is normally celebrated by children dressing up in costumes and going from house to house collecting sweets and money but with the recent release of Iron Man the adults are now getting in on the action.

Iron Man is a production of Marvel Comics and the Marvel franchise has really picked up steam over the last few years when it comes to collectibles. The success of movies like Spider Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four and now Iron Man will no doubt continue to fuel the Iron Man collectibles fire. Like most hot movies, the amount of collectibles available right now is pretty high but over the coming years, the supply will dwindle to a trickle and those smart enough to grab a few choice pieces now will be left laughing last.

Movie characters have always been a big winner with Halloween costumes and this year will be no different. There is no doubt we will be seeing tons of Iron Man costumes this year on Halloween. The movie was an absolute smash at the box office, raking in an estimated $102 million in the first week, so you can bet a fairly large percentage of the young kids and not so young dads who went along to see the movie will be dressing up as Iron Man himself this year on October 31.

Here are the different types of armor you could wear:

1. The Red and Gold Armor - Version III. This is the main type of armor you will see this year on Halloween because it is the most commonly known armor of Iron Man, has a line of action figures made just like it, and is the type worn by Tony Stark when he was fighting Iron Monger, his arch nemesis

2. Silver Armor - Version II. This armor is much less glamorous than the red and gold armor, so it won't be as popular. In the movie, this armor type was the one first built by Tony Stark after being locked up as a hostage. It had some problems with it and actually froze during flight. While not as flash as the red and gold armor I am sure you will still see some die hard Iron Man fans dressed up in this disguise on October 31

3. Metallic Grey - Version I. This is the very first armor ever built or worn by Iron Man, so you can be sure that some purists will want to be looking like the original thing this year for the Trick or Treat festivities.

These life size replicas are based on the actual movie props and are constructed of real metal and often lined with leather for a reasonably comfortable fit. If you are an avid Iron Man fan these might make a really cool addition to your game room, den or office. A life size replica Iron Man helmet is sure to spur conversation and not to mention they look really cool.

So if Iron Man is your thing then I would recommend you check out the items available now. Marvel has limited the number of reproductions it would allow in order to keep collectability very high.
