3D model of a N.Y Central Hudson steam locomotive based on a 1:87 scale plastic modelkit. Was done for my first modeling class. I used maya 2008. Took around 50 hours to do. The render is only a occlusion pass.

  • Awesome. Good job, dude!

Just add some detail in the cab there and hey!

  • Thanx a lot for the positive comment!

If i get some more time, i could, like you suggested, finish the cab and apply some textures to it. Don't think it's going to happend though :(

  • can you send it to me im a modeler and i wanna see if i could get it work in a version of trainz through the idexed mesh file or im for short

  • Since you have posted this, you must expect some criticism. The problem I have with all of this, is most of you guys really do rush things. Basic dimensions are missed, ignored or overlooked altogether. The Commonwealth pilot's slots are too small, the trailing truck access apertures, far (not way!) too large. This from a quick glance with one viewing. You must learn to see these things in your mind's eye otherwise you are entirely dependent on your computer and whatever software you bought.

  • @JohnCoutu HOLY SHIT!!! YOU ARE GOOD!

  • Amazing, so much detail!!

  • can imagine the effort you must have put into this piece of work. it's simply awesome. good job man! very impressive!

  • So when are you going texture it and export it to the MSTS format or Kuju's Rail Simulator?

  • Some nice detail in the model.

  • Handsome work! Well done. Will ya work on the movements then? I would like to see it!

  • I would imagine it'd be ruthlessly difficult to animate the Valve gear. durg...
