I'm not sure if this was the pilot or the premiere, but it somehow aired on the Family Channel. An early episode of Masters of the Maze with J.D. Roth with contestants Josh/Janine vs. Brooke/Dani vs. Brandon/Augustine. This score format was not your typical 10-point picture, 5-point question format. Instead, there were 10 seconds on the clock and as the picture grew clearer, the clock counts down. The faster you buzz-in, the more points you get depending on how many seconds are left on the clock. You are then asked a question worth the same amount of points, and the Speedround was the same 10 points for a picture as was instituted throughout the rest of the run.

  • Thanks for uploading this, Michael.

As for pilots, one source plugging the show's premiere referred to the show as TimeBomb, where contestants had to defuse a multi-level time bomb. I wonder if Kline & Friends ever taped any pilots under this name.

  • @rjaguar3 I kinda remember something about the Time Bomb name, but it was just vague to me because it was only one time I've heard of it. That's why I was unsure if this was the pilot or premiere. Thanks for pointing that out.

Plus, my pleasure putting this up. It was highly requested for some time, but I had misplaced the tape. Glad I finally found it!

  • You know, this isn't a horrible setup. It's different to say the least, but speed is more of a factor here than it was at any other time in the front game. I like it.

  • I remember the show for a few episode they runners wore shirts like there partners but then they swicted to the start of the power suits and if they go into the maze they get in full gear. Mario Lopez did the samething with the start of the power suits and full gear if they make the maze. I really did not like new changes when Mario became host.

  • On some websites, it said that the Pilot Episode had the following people as contestants: Scott/Ari vs. Krystal/Kirk vs. Oliver/Benjamin. That was a mistake. Some people are correcting it.

  • FOOTBALL DIAMOND!! That is as crazy as MOWLAWNER!!

  • @BartJS300 The shirts were worn during the picture round.

  • I think there were about 3 or so episodes with this scoring format. Also in the earlier episodes the runners wore the blue t-shirts that said Masters of the Maze on them instead of their power suits.

  • Thanks for uploading this. Kline & Friends is a very underrated (and by some underappreciated) production company.
