Nope, it moved to Channel 3 in 1995. In 1998, the branding changed to just "CFCN" without mentioning the channel number

Kind of a news theme geek myself. The Buffalo station mentioned above is WGRZ channel 2, search for "WGRZ 1994 open" and their open using this music will show up.
KDFW's opens with Broadcast News can be found under "KDFW 1991".

This news theme is called "Broadcast News" from Non-Stop Music, commissioned by KDFW in Dallas in the early 90s.

The theme music was also used by a station in Buffalo in the early to mid-1990's.
I miss that theme music.
Now all CTV stations have similar intros.

It was mid-October 1994 when CFCN moved to channel 3 in the middle of a week. I believe it was to accomodate future cable channels.

Channel 5 actually moved to channel 3 in 1996.
