  • @lambdaofbacon No death penalty. Ever. 1. Killing is immoral. Doesn't matter whether an individual or the states does it. 2. The death penalty is not a deterrent. It just teaches that killing is ok. 3. Eyewitness testimony has been proven to be wrong. Go to the Innocence Project website

  • @lambdaofbacon Now you are deflecting. Answer my questions.

As to your question, I have studied government, and been involved in politics my whole adult life. I would be glad to give you an overview of my resume when you answer my questions.

Since you claim to study government, then you know that happiness of the collective is not based upon morality. You are asking me whether the sky is blue. And what makes me the judge of the happiness of the collective? I declare myself judge. There are your answers.

  • @iwilder

Have you studied any government theory? Apparently not. Become educated and then come back.

  • @lambdaofbacon No, I am trying to stop the government from forcing your version of morality on people by killing them. The Spanish Inquisition was in the business of maximizing what they believed was maximizing the happiness of the collective by opressing the few. And so was slavery. And what makes you the judge of the happiness of the collective? And what makes you be able to say that the happiness of the collective is not based upon morality.?

  • @iwilder

So your argument is that of morality? Governments do not have morals. They are there to maximize happiness of the collective by oppressing the few. Once a government starts dictating morality, political upheaval soon follows.

It sounds like you are trying to force your beliefs of morality upon others. Do you know what happened during the Spanish Inquisition? A lot of killing based upon forcing morality.

  • @iwilder

You have a man who is guilty of 1st degree murder. Several people witnessed it. He admits to the murder. Why not use the death penalty?

  • @lambdaofbacon What's your question?

  • @iwilder

Eyewitnesses placed him at the scene, but did not see him set fire to the house. I am talking about eyewitnesses to the murder, not placing them at the scene. Come on now. Answer the question and stop deflecting.
