6 Pristellas -5 White Clouds -4 or 5 ghost shrimps that have been trying to breed (fish must be getting to the eggs) -50-100 Mystery snails ( yes I do population control but they keep all the plants/rocks real clean) -One sword plant, yes, I only detached two little swords from it. It has 2 big runners -Aponogeton, African? -Dwarf Lily -Java Moss -Please help me remember what kind of ground cover this is? -some other type of grass like plant (hard to see) 2 15w 6500k bulbs, could use another 15w. On for 15hrs. DIY glass filter 3 stage DIY CO2 Phosphate and hardness a bit high, but I have been doing a 50/50 purified/tap water change and seemed to help. 2 squirts of Nitrogen on Mondays and Fridays. Substrate: Potting soil, peat sorb, sand, gravel. The white Clouds, snails and shrimps have eradicated the black algea on the big lava rock, I pulled the rest off the moss. It has not been a nuisance, the white clouds and shrimp seem to enjoy it. PLEASE COMMENT!!! SUGGESTIONS VERY WELCOMED!!!

  • really nice tank! hey i was wondering what you think of my 29 gal stocking plan, here it is:

    5 bleeding heart tetras,

    5 bronze corydoras,

    1 dwarf gourami,

    1 snail,

    2 shrimp,

4 hatchetfish and 2 platys OR guppies. what do you think?

  • @kmscutie132 Guppies and platys might reproduce a bit fast, ok if you got someone to take the extras. I personally like to keep a ratio of 1 gallon per fish as it gives them more peaceful space to swim in, it also seems to keep the aquarium cleaner longer. What kind of shrimps are you talking about? I buy 5-10 Ghost Shrimps at a time as some die almost right away (stress related?), reproduce better in numbers and clean the aquarium. If you buy live plants you don't need to buy snails.

  • @FrenchChili Most stores keep snails in the same tanks they keep plants in; even if they remove the snails when you get the plants, the eggs remain as well as baby snails too hard to see. As long as you get live plants, snails are free! My 29 gallon had a minimum 100 snails and population control was done by the female Betta, some were given or sold

  • what kind of lighting u have? thanks

  • @madzniburkle 2 15w 6500k. Another 15w would have been better.

  • Nice,Whats the deal with the thing on the side of the tank??CO2?

  • @honeybees1 It filters the heavy sediments from the tank. The small black tube coming from the jug is the C02.

  • @MattndewBlog It is not good to take the plants out, everytime you do so the plants would have to re-root themselves. When I change the water I only take out ~50% of the water. To clean the glass I use a stick to push the plants away so the cleaner magnet doesn't catch them. The only time I can think it's ok to remove plants for cleaning is if you have chinese marbles instead of dirt and aquarium gravel.

  • nice tank i have same Aponogeton i had to trim it down but its regrowing now do u take the plants out wen u clean cause someone said tht i shuldnt do tht but it doesnt seem to do anything to them what do u think?
