The game actually has 3 boss themes. The first plays when you fight the Chief Soldier, Ball & Chain Troopers, Hinoxes, or forced enemy encounters like a mob of Keese. The second theme plays when fighting Dark Link or the Big Dark Stalfos. The 3rd boss theme is this one that plays when fighting one of the bosses that guard the maidens. It also plays when fighting Jalhalla/Big Poe in the swamp, Helmaroc King, and Vaati.

A fair amount of the Four Swords Adventures soundtrack is merely Link to the Past music remixed.
Just more reason to love the game.
