Hoyt died long before some could realize his fabulous talent; as a singer, songwriter and musician. Chet Atkins said he could hear a teardrop in Hoyt's voice. Bill Monroe would ask Hoyt to show him licks on the mandolin. George Jones was at his funeral.
A great voice and entertainer. I miss him so!

  • WOW -- HOYT RAY JOHNSON -- Another great Alabaman that should be known a great deal more than he is. Hoyt cut fabulous Rockabilly, beautiful tear jerkin ballads and highly emotional Gospel -- i know cos i know a man that knows this man so well that over the years he has shared all of Hoyt with me - i am eternally grateful of Hoyts greatest pal and co musician /singer. Yo hidin'under a bushel Son tee hee
