This is the night launch of the Shuttle Endeavour (STS-113) on Nov. 23, 2002 at 7:49 p.m. This video was shot atop the Broward General Medical Center parking garage in Fort Lauderdale, Florida — 174 miles south of the Kennedy Space Center. The sky was crystal clear, and the shuttle can be seen as it comes over the horizon 41 seconds after liftoff and separates from its solid rocket boosters.

The Shuttle travels over the Fort Lauderdale skyline, then drops toward the horizon. It is visible until 6 minutes and 47 seconds after liftoff, when it disappears behind some low clouds just above the eastern horizon. Video by Cal Deal.

The launch phase is presented using NASA video and audio. That image is reduced when the Fort Lauderdale sequence begins so you can see both views while listening to the NASA audio.
