  • @smithjacusmc Actually the Marines & Army left kuwait at the same time in 2003, and 3rd Infantry Div. Was just Crushing any resistance they came across, and made it to Baghdad. We have Bradley's, you guys dont. Thats specifically why 2/7 Cavalry was requested to come to Fallujah, because you guys dont have that type of weaponry. The LAV's dont have TOW missles, or the Armor that a Bradley has. Now the first Conventional unit in Afghanistan was 101'st ABN Division, look up Operation Anaconda..

  • @11bravo1789 you know we are trained to be that way. we just let the army handle all the light work....if its real bad we call seal team 6....hahaha! It probably depends on where you are standing when the ___ hits the fan, and which brass says his unit got there first, in 10+ years everyone has had there share of nastiness, but I do recall the Army dogs were the main force in Iraq early on, the USMC was mainly preoccupied with Afghanistan at that time.

  • @smithjacusmc so again I just bring it up because if you look at the history of Iraq/ Afghanistan, the Army has actually taken almost all major cities, or been the first to route the area's. Mosul was taken by the Stryker BGD, Tal Afar was taken by the 3rd ACR, Baghdad airport/city center was taken first by 3rd ID, and infact was waiting on the Marines in 2003 to get there. And Fallujah was really taken by 1st Cav, not Marines. Anyways, I still love all military, but ya'l are too cocky lol

  • @smithjacusmc Respectable response. I just simply put that out about 2/7 Cavalry because, in our friendly competition Marines always bring up Fallujah..that they took it ect... Which is actually not the whole story. You all kinda got whipped in April/May of 2004 after taking it over from 82nd ABN. Took alot of KIA's, then U.S. Army was the first to go into the City in November of 2004, at the request from the Marine G.C. 1st Cavalry went in, punched a hole..and cleared alot of the city

  • @11bravo1789 so ya wanna fight? JK, well I was out by then and don't know "who" did "what", but what I do know is that our lovely government has gone off on it's own thing and "we",you, me and all our brothers have paid the price for to long, for so little. I'm glad everyone got to "get some" but I wish the cause was just.

hooah to you and ooh rah to them!

  • @smithjacusmc let me clarify my statement. This might be a tribute to 2/7 marines. HOWEVER, 2/7 Cavalry...IE custards' cavalry regiment..1st Cavalry division. WAS, the FIRST UNIT to enter Fallujah, AFTER the Marines had to withdraw, after getting their ass's handed to them in April / May of 2004. 2/7 Cavalry was requested By Name to come to Fallujah, and Spearhead this operation. Due to the Reputation of the unit from their Action in taking Najaf, Earlier in 2004. That what i was refering

  • @11bravo1789 hmm, those are Marines bro, 2nd battalion 7th marine regiment, 1st marine division. We in the Corps have this thing called a MAGTF, Marine Air Ground Task Force, no doubt that is most likely what this refers to. unless some devil dog who was there wants to chime in and make a definite verification.

  • @smithjacusmc No, TF 2/7 stands for 2nd BN 7 Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cav. Division. Task Force 2/7 was the assembly of U.S. Army units that entered Fallujah FIRST, before the Marines in November of 2004. I see your comments old so you probably know this already, but figured id throw my two cents.

  • YUTTTTT

Spaz- E1C, the ONLY Pirates of Sangin
